MLB plans to start the baseball season in July

After months of discussions, planning, and meetings, the Major League Baseball owners approved a proposal witch the commissioner plans to propose to the MLB players and union later this week. The proposal wants to include home and away games for all teams by July. Opening games would preferably be started on 4th of July.

Key aspects of the proposal include an expansion of playoff eligible teams from 10 to 14, a 82-game schedule, government and state approved home stadiums, a new spring training session, the universal designated hitter role for all teams, geographical schedule and divisions, and finally a 30 man expanded roster with a 50 man taxi squad tagging along on.

All these changes sound extremely interesting and excited. Teams having to play only regional clubs will have intruding effects on performances and record. 4 more playoff teams will give more teams a chance to win it all in October. It remains to be seen if the players will agree to this proposal, but I think both sides will swiftly negotiate and come to an agreement.
