The Raiders might not be in Oakland anymore, but their football spirits, pride, and passion, still linger on in the East Bay and around the Bay Area. Since relocating to Las Vegas, The Raiders have a new stadium and city to call home, opening Allegiant Stadium for the 2020 NFL season. Their schedule is pretty easy in terms of opponents with the last 3 out of 4 games of the season being played at home in the comfy new arena. With the attractions and lights of the Strip there will be a huge influx of national media and fan interest for the Sin City team that will be hosting big prime-team must see NFL matchups. However, the biggest upside to this years schedule and overall relocation is that the Raiders no longer have to worry about cold weather.
Las Vegas kicks off its season at the Carolina Panthers and then hosts the New Orleans Saints at the new Allegiant Stadium on Monday Night Football for week 2. There is a ton of travel and time zone shifts as the Raiders play at New England for week 3, host Buffalo for week 4, head back to the dreaded confines of Arrowhead Stadium to take on Kansas City in week 5, hosting a gigantic match-up against the new Tampa Bay team lead by Brady in week 6. Trips to Cleveland and the LA Chargers in the new So-Fi stadium are on deck for weeks 7 and 8. The Raiders finally get to rest home for weeks 9 and 10 when they host the Denver Broncos and Kansas City Chiefs. Another East coast swing for Week 11 and 12 sees match-ups in Atlanta and in New York against the Jets. The last part of the schedule sees 3 consecutive home games vs weak opponents such as the Indianapolis Colts, LA Chargers, and the Miami Dolphins. Once again the Raiders finish the season in the cold Mile High city against the Denver Broncos in week 17. The bye week has not been scheduled for this season, as difficulties remain due to the coronavirus pandemic.
While the schedule ranks 21st in strength of opponents, I think the Raiders finish 8-8 overall and make the playoffs as the last wild-card team.
